YOU NEVER KNOW

My husband says we should start planning for the future. I told him that since we just got married, we should be concentrating on having fun! Why start a college fund for kids we don’t even have? He’s always been the responsible one, so I should probably listen to him. He’s even been talking about things like long term care insurance, so our kids aren’t stuck taking care of us when we’re old and sickly. How was I so lucky to find a guy who thinks about stuff like that? If it wasn’t for him I’d probably still be living in my tiny apartment from my college days, using milk crates for furniture and eating out of tin cans. It’s really nice to know that our finances are being taken care of, because there’s no way I could do it myself. It’s so great that he’s planning for our future, because you never know what could happen. God forbid our house burns down, or one of us gets injured and can’t work! I don’t know what I’d do without him. I can barely balance my own checkbook. In fact before I met him, I didn’t even have a bank account. As soon as I cashed my paycheck I just put all the money in a shoebox in my closet. I never put away a cent for a rainy day. I just spend all on stuff I didn’t need! Can you imagine? I sure am a lucky girl.
