Men losing their hair is bad enough. It's not supposed to bother a guy all that much, and many guys now days are shaving their heads. But women's hair loss is a traumatic thing, and many things can cause it, from medication to allergies to illness. My mother suffered from hair loss, and it was due first to illness then to medication. It was not so severe that she needed a wig, but it did get fairly thin on the top. Now Sue is starting to show some thinning. We don't know why. Her friend, Margo, suggested that she go to the doctor and get a physical. I think it's probably a good idea. You never know. It is bothering her, I can tell. But I don't know what to say. Maybe it will be nothing. Maybe she is allergic to something. The appointment is next Tuesday. I'm going to take the afternoon off and go with her to the doctor. This is a new doctor too, so I imagine there will be the usual tons of paperwork. This got me looking at my own scalp, and so far I'm still just thin in the same places I have been for years. Thin and gray.
