What good is home security if you are not using home security? We have two houses. One in Illinois and one in Michigan. In addition, we have two different businesses that we operate. A person is crazy in today's world not to have security. It doesn't cost all that much, compared to what it used to. At one time it was only for rich people. Now it's for everyone. We decided to install a system after our third break in. We got tired of losing stuff and having to keep our valuables locked up in a safety deposit box at the bank. Each time we were robbed we thought that if we had just spent a few dollars on a system that we would probably be so much ahead. Instead we kept losing things. It wasn't so much the cost of what we were losing, but the value to us. What we lost were things that you couldn't replace, family things. Things our kids gave us. Heirlooms. Tara was sick the last time someone broke in. They found her mother's jewelry. Though it was really valuable in terms of dollars, it was in terms of sentiment. She cried over that loss. He mother has passed on, and it was important to her.
