DETENTION

I’m sitting in detention and I am really mad. There was no reason for our boring, stuck up science teacher to put me in detention. She told me to write a 200-word essay on whatever subject I feel like and this is what she is getting. There are so many other interesting ways to teach science. There’s no reason for a teacher to sit at the front of the classroom and drone on and on for 45 minutes about some boring stuff in a textbook. Either we can read it ourselves or make it interactive. Meanwhile I feel like I am falling into a dark pit of boredom while she’s mono toning Chapter 7 or whatever. I got smart, or so I thought. I hid another book inside my textbook and was too thoroughly engrossed to notice my teacher sneak up on me until she snatched it from me. It was somewhat embarrassing but everyone else thought it was a great idea. She had to punish me I guess so other people wouldn’t get the same bright idea. Well now I have a bright idea. Take the textbook home the night before Mrs. Rufoll and study it and come up with a way to grab your students’ attention so the information grabs them and they can start enjoying science class again. I write your students since after this essay I doubt you’ll let me back into your classroom but I am just trying to help.
